Back up your driver files and any other file you want to keep
Put your computer into Dos mode
type Format C: /Q Note:C= your main hard drive, if it is a different letter us that letter
after it is finished formatting put your OS disk in the CD drive and restart your computer (Ctrl-Alt-Delete)
That is for PC,I don't know about MAC

If you want to start Over, from the day you bought it, then use the PC Restore CD that came with it, it will put the OS back to the way it was when purchased, if no cd is available then use the OS CD and use a Boot Disk, not a Start Up Disk and fdisk, format, and then insert cd and reinstall. re-install windows xp. it will ask you if you want to format the drive.
