get 8 spark plugs made for the car, get a spark plug wrench that fits over them. gap the plugs according to the gap specified by the supplier. pull the first spark plug wire. put the wrench over the spark plug turn counterclockwise to loosen and remove. insert the new sparkplug with your fingers and screw it in clockwise with your fingers till it is too tight to turn anymore (at least 3 turns) then tighten it with the spark plug wrench . then plug the spark plug wire back in and go on to the next plug and do the same thing until all eight plugs have been replaced.

The spark plugs on a 5.7 engine are very difficult to change. The three front left side plugs and the middle two plugs on the right side can be accessed from the top. The other plugs can only be reached from underneath the engine. Changing the wires is also difficult since the distributer is only accessible from under the engine. Changing the distributor requires moving the A/C compressor, alternator and removing the water pump. My estimates for plugs and wires $275.00. Replacing distributor add $450.00.

you may get to all 8 plugs from under the hood. stick to the plug wires from the distributor to the plugs. the toughest plug to get to will in all probability be the rear plug on the passenger ingredient, via heater container and a/c hoses. replace one plug at a time then reconnect the plug twine. this could save you from crossing the wires.
