I dropped my Motorola V260 (really hard, against a wall). The phone still works; it can receive phone calls and dial out. But the screen doesn't work. I have another unit - the same model. It is inactive. Can I switch chips on the phones, so that the inactive (operable) phone becomes my active phone, with all the data ported over?

Well, that depends on what carrier you are with.

If you are with T-mobile, Cingualr or any other GSM service provider, then all you need to do is remove the sim card out from behind your battery and place it in your new phone.

However, Motorola V260 probably means Verizon. They are CDMA, so no sim cards. If you are on Verizon, use the My Account feature on verizonwireless.com to change the ESN (pop the battery off. the ESN is an eleven digit number on the sticker behind the battery).

You can call their customer care, but they will charge you to make the switch.

Unfortunately, there is no way to make sure all your data transfers over. Most corporate stores (of whatever carrier) can save your phone book though.

You can change the chip just as long as it is not locked. Usually in the cases that the phone is locked it is because it was never activated in a store or (maybe) if they still have charges.

it really is available for persons to do this, yet you've executed the right element through having the police in contact and replacing your telephone and wide type. the in ordinary words advice that i'll grant you with is to stay and danger-free and if something else serious takes position then you truthfully could stay with a relied on relative purely so that they could't come to you living house.
