Well first I have to assume that you have a computer. Then you have to sign up with an ISP (Internet Service Provider) and you will get an e-mail address from them. For instance if you sign up with Earthlink, your e-mail address will be for instance Yourname@earthlink.net or you may open an account with Time Warner Cable. Then your e-mail address would be yourname@twcny.rr.com or something like that. You don't even need a computer to have an e-mail address. Some e-mail programs are web based such as Yahoo and Hotmail so you can access your e-mail from any computer. Go to the library. In the browser address bar type in www.yahoo.com and sign up for an e-mail account It's free. If you don't know what an address bar is, ask somebody. I'm sure you will find somebody who is willing to help you. I may have made it sound more difficult than it really is but it is quite easy. Good luck. Maybe some more answers will fill in some of the blanks for you.

You already have one email address and by using it you have got acess to this forum and asking this question. To know about your id you can go to mail.yahoo.com and give the user name and password to get access to your account. You must be having a welcome mail there from Yahoo.

You can use your address to send and receive mails.

I have also found more information on how email works and how to troubleshoot email related problems at http://tinyurl.com/nnv9f, it works.
