When we go camping I get bitten but my husband doesn't get any bites.
Is there anything I can do to prevent it? They turn red and are very itchy, some get as large as a quarter.

Chiggers like warm, moist places. I don't mean for it to sound dirty or anything but that is the truth. Use skin so soft from Avon and it will help alot and also Avon has a new lotion out just for bug bites and it works wonderful.

It is because of the prespiration that naturally happen under the breasts, in the crotch and under the arm pits. You might be getting bit because you used perfumed soap or lotion which attract things that like to bite

Most likely you are getting "chigger bites." And they are miserable. Scratching them only makes them itch worse. An oldfashioned remedy my mom swears by is to take a bath with a little bit of bleach in the water, scary, I know. ;-) They tend to infest where clothing is tightest, elastic waistbands, bra straps, pantylines, etc. I hope you find some relief! Chigger X available at drugstores also works well.

YOU MIGHT BE GETTING BITTEN BY CHIGGERS, LITTLE BUGS THAT LIKE WARM PLACES ON THE SKIN. MY FAMILY HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEM WHILE CAMPING AND ON PICNICS, TOO. THEY'RE SNEAKY, YOU DON'T KNOW YOU HAVE THEM UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE. BUG REPELLENT SHOULD HELP AND MAYBE A LITTLE MEDICATED POWDER TO STAY DRY AND COOL. ALSO TRY NOT TO SIT SO CLOSE TO TREES AND SHRUBS. THEY HANG OUT THERE A LOT BUT ARE EVERYWHERE, CREEPY LITTLE THINGS! HERE'S A SITE THAT MIGHT HELP IF THAT'S WHAT'S GETTING YOU.

Insects like warm and moist areas. You'll need to apply a generous amount of bug spray in those areas.

Bugs like warm, moist places. Females have more of those than males. Try putting baby powder in those areas to keep them dry.

Because that is where you sweat the most and that attracts mosquitos. Use a repellant. It may not completely resolve the problem, but should help some.

It sounds to me like chigger bites.....we all get them when we go into the woods......ask your doctor for a good cortisone cream....one that is stronger than what you can buy across the counter..............they do hurt and itch at the same time..............people are right about insects wanting to go to moist places!!!
