It's a four-ounce juice glass, jammed upside down in the drain. I tried using a spoon to lever it out, and only ended up bending the spoon. I am alone here, and don't have money for a plumber. Help!

Do you have a small suction? You can also use two small utensils (like picking up salad from a bowl. I hope this helps and I understand how annoying it can be!!

You said you tried to use a spoon to lever it out so I am assuming there is a little room around the glass. Get some double sticky tape or duck tape and twist it around two table knives so the sticky side is facing out. Now try to get a knife on both sides of the glass. Put some Vaseline on the back side of the knife toward the drain so you don't stick to it. Keep the sticky side toward the glass. Press as far down as you can get and then using both knives together begin moving the glass back and forth while pulling up gently. Be sure the glass if dry before trying this or the tape will not stick. Good luck.

If this is in your drain, I'm assuming you have a garbage disposal??? The hole is bigger and the rubber around it is creating a suction now...

Anyway...don't shatter it..., the broken glass is not worth it...try to manuever it up through the drain hole...it got in there, so maybe with patience, you can get it out...

If not...cut off the water supply to your sink...(maybe not necessary, but better safe then sorry) the disposal under your sink typically has 3 screws....loosen them and lower the disposal unit...you should be able to get the glass then..put the unit back in just the same....I've done it before....I hope it works for you.

Is it stuck tight? May be suction that is holding it in. You need to release the pressure. loosen the p-trap (U-shape) under the sink enough to let air in. Most have one side that unscrews. Then try it. You may need to get something with a suction cup to grip the bottom of the glass to pull it free. Or use a vaccum

DONT break it.. lemme think and i'll edit my answer shortly..

something sticky.. LOTS of gum.. sticky tac.. duct tape.. anything like that. put it on a pencil or hold it with tongs or something.. MAKE SURE THE GLASS BOTTOM IS DRY. stick and pull out GENTLY.

dont break the glass cause you'll get glass stuck in the drain.. that's a bigger problem when you clog the drain..

shop vac would work like a charm.. if you have one around.. but i was assuming you dont.. and a normal vac you may break if you get the inside of it wet.. but you could still try!

Let us know how you get it out! or at least me know! we're rooting for ya!

A 4-oz glass is pretty small. You should be able to loosen it and pull it out with a large pair of adjustable pliers. Or, if worse comes to worse, just break the glass with a hammer.

Do you have a shop vac. that you can use and suck the glass back up the drain? You could try a regular vacuum, but it might not be strong enough. That was my first thought, maybe it will work.

well, having kids who seem to have a knack at getting objects stuck in the drain, here's what I do.I take duct tape and reverse it so that both sticky sides are useful, then I use the end of a wooden spoon and voila',success!

make sure it is dry and then try the vacuum cleaner hose. If that doesn't work, put on eye protection, get a nail and hammer and break the glass then fish out the pieces with gloves or the vacuum cleaner.

Try twisting it like opening a jar, but if it's easy to break be careful, but if that doesn't work more time working it will be required, if you cannot after that then, yes, break it as a last resort.
