I am thinking of becoming a business major, either accounting or finance. But I hate dealing with people. I don't want a job where most of my duties involve dealing with people one-on-one. However, I do want a salary $50-60k+. Would I have a better chance of findinng this kind of job by being an Accounting major orr a Finance major?

You can end up working in a bank's back office or operations area with either a Finance or Accounting degree. But I would say go with Finance.... your options might be better if you don't want to deal with the public. With Accounting, you might end up doing taxes somewhere.

However, take this as a word of advice. You're going to have to deal with angry, unpleasant people no matter where you work. Trust me, it's a part of life.

Most back room corporate accounting jobs (no face to face time with clients) are being outsourced to India. If you want to make money as an Accountant in the U.S., you will need people skills, work for the government, or accept lower pay.
