in the beginning of the movie, Evans mom comes into the school to talk to the teacher at the teachers request. the teacher shows evans mom a picture that Evan drew that depicted one person holding a bloody knife while two other people were laying on the ground showed as dead. what significance does this picture contribute to the plot and who are the people in thie picture?

The picture Evan is drawing (older Evan spending a little bit of quiet time in the past, but we don't see that until later, when he is in prison) is of 2 of the violent homosexual predators in the prison who have been trying to rape him, and who have stolen his notebooks. You'll notice later that, as his religious cell mate blocks their door, Evan commits exactly this drawn act upon them and then retrieves his notebooks and gets the heck out of there. BTW, have you seen the alternate ending? No spoilers here if you haven't :)

I have a very short attention span and by the end of the movie It was as I hadn't watched it all. Very confusing film.

that's where he jumped back in time from the prison. He wanted to kill the guys who wanted him to perform sexual favors.
