The ACT and SAT are college entry exams. You are required to take the ACT if you plan to go to college. You won't be admitted without them. As for the SAT, it depends on where you plan to go to college. Some places require it, others don't. I graduated from the Oklahoma City Community College in May. They only required the ACT. I am currently attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University. They, too, only required the ACT.

As for its contents? It is a test that covers all subjects - English, Math, Science... It is basically a way to professionally grade your educational level. It is a summation of all of you have learned, another words. It is best if you can get a study guide for it. They aren't too terribly expensive. Also follow the guidelines that are suggested too.

The ACT is basically like the ACT except that it focuses on a larger variety of subjects (such as science). Some people compare it to Iowa Tests (you'll be familiar with this if you go to Catholic School).

Whether or not you should take it depends on what schools you are applying to and what your strengths are. The ACTs seem to be more popular along the West Coast, while SATs dominate the East. Almost every school will accept the ACTs, but some (especially on the east coast) will still require you to take the SAT or some of the SAT IIs. Look into what colleges you are applying to and go from there. But it never hurts to take both.

It's a silly test, much like the SAT, except it looks at more subjects. Some might say it's more accurate. Pick the test you take based on what the college you plan on going to looks at.

I took both types and I did way better on the ACT than SAT but everybody has different learning abilities. Try to take both and see what happens.

The ACT is more analytical based. It tests how you analyze problems. The SAT is based on how quick you can answer the problems. Do whichever one you feel more comfortable with.

I for one hope you do not take it. "Dose" is incorrect. You have already failed.
