Ya know, they tell you "I listen to a little bit of everything. Music is music." Then you ask them if they like country, or techno, or rap, etc. and they make fun of it. What gives?

Well.... music is music....
But rap isn't music. LOL. JK
I'm a bit guilty of that. In popular music, I love everything from the music of the 1890's to some of the music my kids listened to when they were still at home, from the late 1990's. That takes in a LOT of music!! And being a teenager in the 60's, I know all the words to literally hundreds of songs in the pop music category.
I'm also a church organist, so I know and love hundreds of hymns and church folk music and psalms, etc. But I think, no matter how much we do like, there are some styles that some people just don't like. Rap is OK for awhile, but the words are pretty much garbage, and it gets old when it's been playing for awhile. Techno... I don't even know what that is. Country has never been my favorite. I have a list of 10 country songs that I like, but most of it, I'd rather not hear. I don't actually make fun of it, though. That's somebody's heart being poured out.

People LIE!!! However, I DO like most forms of music. I generally do not like rap, however, but there are a few songs I do like. I like older country (70s and 80s) and some of the new stuff as well. For the rest, I like it all, lol.

I'd listen to a chicken fart before I would rap or hip hop. Hearing people whine about how hard it is "In Da Ghetto" and How many cops they can shoot isn't my cup of tea. How about sing about believing in yourself and get a job and get off the food stamps and get on with life.

I truly listen to everything... I like trance, punk, metal, country, classical, rap, foreign, show tunes, oldies, gospel, hip hop, 50s rock, raver sh_it, everything. Of course I do have my favs, but I am pretty flexible with my music... u should see my mp3 player list. =)

I'm guilty of that myself. When I say I listen to everything I mean I will listen to everything at least once and if I don't like it then I won't listen anymore. But I won't not listen to something just because I'm not used to listening to it.

I like any music that has some rhythm and meaning to it. the only type of music I can't stand is heavy metal because it is too loud and the lyrics suck.

I love most genres...country is my favorite and probably the most made fun of...oh well...I like what I like :)
