The English language is one of the most difficult languages to learn, so do not worry if it takes you a long time! This will sound strange, but it sometimes helps if you buy some children's learning videos. One of the hardest parts about learning any language is that people who are fluent speak very quickly and use difficult words. People on children's videos do everything a new speaker needs to learn the language: they speak slowly, use simple words, and repeat everything they say. Once you feel comfortable, you will be able to move onto to learning more difficult words and phrases. Good luck!

Your best bet is to practice. When you don't understand people, ask them to repeat what they said more clearly. If you're not sure you're saying something correctly, ask. You could also take more classes in English (I'm assuming you've had some, or you wouldn't have what you do). If you try hard enough, you can learn it. For what it's worth, English is one of the more difficult languages to learn, especially if you're from Asia.

Aww, I have a girl who went to my high school who was adopted from Vietnam. She's probably the nicest most genuine person I've ever met in my life. Anyway, congratulations on graduating college. I'd try Rosetta Stone it's very pricey but it's supposed to be an amazing program. Otherwise, look online for an actual person like a speech therapist to help you out. It might be costly, but it will be worth it in the long run. Good luck!

Check in your area for an adult reading center or at a community college for an English as a Second Language class. Contact the local library for assistance in finding a class that will work for you and your particular needs.

I believe it is best that you attend school to improve your english skill, including grammar, diction and pronounciation. When I was in elementary, we can't afford to enroll on speech classes so I decided to improve myself through reading books and articles so that my vocabulary will widen. I check the dictionary for words I do not understand or do not know how to pronounce. Chat with friends/foreigners who speaks good english. Many just speaks English that are good to hear but grammaticallt incorrect. If you can distiguish them, you are off to a good start. I can help you out too if you want, just mail me through: marygd8@yahoo.com ONLY IF YOU MEAN SERIOUS BUSINESS
