Yes, you can burn DVD's, CD's, and playback also, Look under your options in the Burning Program, ( Nero, Roxio, etc.) and choose to save the image to harddrive, if you have enough free disk space, the copying of disc's to one another, "On the Fly" you can actually lose data in the copy mode, saving to harddrive insures that you get all data. Ya. Stick in a DVD-R and burn the files to it using some software that came with the burner, like Roxio or Nero.
