How do you think Iraq would've been had the British occupation lasted 'til now?

I've heard from my late grandfather and other old people that Iraq would've been one of the greatest, most developed countries in the world had the British occupation lasted, The Brits were honest straight forward people and ruled the country MUCH BETTER than all national governments. of course they had their own interests in the country and region but they cared for the Iraqi people too unlike our selfish national corrupted regimes, I'm originally from Iraq and lived there for 23 years.

i am with u, our regimes are selfish and corrupted, i am from egypt, and u know how bad is our regim, but i think, if the people serched well inside themselves, they will find good leadership, and it's better million times than imported rulers!

my best guess is that it would've been like Pakistan. not horrible, but not great
