Why should the husband be older than his wife ?

I can't believe some of the answers in here! I'm not sexist, however usually the man is older in the relationships so that the maturity is level up with woman. Female are more mature than males most times therefore younger female prefer older males when they court, most cases.

it is a fact men being thier maturation process typically later than women. Girl's typically onset puberty at 12 but as young as 9. Boys will typically onset at 14, but rarely younger and more often around 16.

Typically a man would need something to offer a woman in order for him to appeal as a provider. So this would mean to offer a stable home, and good income, he would be well solidified in his career and position, not to mention be sexually more mature and experienced. Men also typically enjoy the dominance factor. Women are hard pressed to respect a man younger than herself, and thus for her submission, she must trust his judgment and knowledge. Typically a man being older will have more life experience.

Um.. i dont think age matters too much most of the time people say that men who are younger are immature or not normal in a typical relationship because of the whole male dominance thing but honestly why does it matter as long as a person finds their true love or partner for life whats the big deal.

Actually, it works out better for the man to be 8 to 10 years YOUNGER if they want to even out in old age.
ON average men die earlier than the women, so they are left at the mercy of the children or the SYSTEM if they live past 80.
If the men were younger, then the women would have them for 8 to 10 years longer than average into old, wrinkly, handicapped old age!

This isn't always the case. Not to put men down, but they generally mature slower than women (physically and mentally). It all depends on the person. So in order to have a mature relationship usually the guy has to be older... = )
