In order for Detroit to get to the playoffs...they need to show up to games...That has been a horrible franchise as you pointed out quite well. They have a VERY slim shot of taking the NFC North...an wild card wise...Washington, Dallas, New York, Carolina, Tampa, Seattle, and possible Arizona and St Louis are all pretty strong favorites for division titles and wild cards spots..leaving even some of them to not make the playoffs...teams that can't be underestimated in the NFC would include Green Bay...they showed two sides of themselves in the past two games...then New Orleans, if their defense can actually show up, they have the weapons on offense to win a few more games than normal. So sorry if you're a Detroit fan, you wont be watching them play in January.

The NFL is full of Parity, and Mike Martz is an offensive genius. The Lions should win more games this season. Whether that will translate to the playoffs remains to be seen. However this isn't likely., With a new coach, starting quarterback and new schemes on offense and defense the Lions are rebuilding this season. Playoffs chances are scarce, but Lions might have a slim chance at making the playoffs if they win against the other teams within their division.

No Way the Lions make the playoffs. Harrington, Rogers, and Williams didn't pan out at all. One is gone, one is getting fined for being fat, and one has an injury bug and loves Mary Jane. So, therefore, as long as Matt Millen is at the helm don't expect a record any better than 8-8. If thats good enough to make the playoffs than maybe, just maybe, they can make it.

I'm very hopeful for my lions this year. I had noticed something the tigers and the lions had hosted the allstar game and the superbowl,. Now the tigers are in frist place , so maybe having the events had movtied the teams. the tigers had gotten rid of my Faav tiger of all -time, and bam they are playing again. the lions had fried my fav coach mooch. so maybe they will just as good as the tigers , Also another wired thought the last time the Lions had won in 53 they had palyed at TIGER STADIUM( if i;m worng on that fact don't shoot me) and now both teams are right next door to each other, HMMM.....

The only way for them to make the playoffs is if they can get tickets for the entire team to watch from the stands.

Yes, there is. Jon Kitna has to throw 3500 yards and 26 TDs. Kevin Jones needs to rush 1200 yards and 10 TDs.
