I can only suppose that the reason for not making this public would be for the morale of other soldiers. It is a tragedy, and I am so very sorry for your loss.

They are rarely spoken about anywhere, because of the stigma attached to it. Sadly, my own son, an Army Specialist, completed suicide in Feb. of '04. I was not aware that he was on medications for depression and was under an Army doctors care. Everything is pushed under the rug. You can Google "military suicides" for informative articles on this. I know of several suicides that has occurred. It is estimated that at least 1,000+ soldiers complete suicide yearly...How sad...

Unfortunatley, we don't see the ugly side of our own causes. We only hear of extremists and muslims. It's demoralizing and sad to the American people. As well as to the military. It is not terribly common, but anyone who is ordered to kill people must make reperations spiritually within himself, sometimes suicides occur. My condolences.

The media always like to paint police officers and military people in bad light. I am sure they would have lapped it up if there was someone out there pushing the story like you are now. Put out a press release. They will run it.
