Everyone is different but you'll waste your time in the hospital if you go now. Depending on whether this is your first, second or etc. you'll progress differently. I lost my plug a week before I actually delivered. You'll know when you loose your plug, sometimes it comes out slowly a little at a time and other times it just takes once. Each pregnancy for me was different. You can tell when its time when the pain is ABSOLUTELY unbearable. Don't confuse the uncomfortable pain with actual labor pains. Sometimes when you get scared you delay your labor. The calmer you are and the more accepting to what will happen the quicker you allow your body to do what it needs to do. Don't be scared and just RELAX, things will go smoothly, really.

No, not necessary. You can be 2cm for up to 4 week before you deliver. If you get a messy bloody show and a thick mucus then this is your plug. Ask your doctor the next time you go in about this.

I don't think you lost your plug yet. Has your water bag broke? It varies with woman! Go to your doctor or the ER and have them check you.

JUST BECAUSE YOUR DIALATED DOESNT MEAN YOU LOST IT. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL. IT COULD HAPPEN ALL AT ONCE OR OVER SEVERAL DAYS. YOU WILL HAVE A SNOTTY LIKE DISCHARGE AND MAYBE BLOOD. TRUST ME YOU WILL KNOW. AND YOU MAY NOT LOOSE IT TILL YOUR ALREADY IN LABOR. EVERY WOMEN IS DIFFERENT BUT THERE WILL BE NO DOUBT WHEN IT STARTS TO HAPPEN! GOOD LUCK.

well u lose ur plug when u notice a thick mucous in ur toilet. and u will notice more contractions after this i lost it when i was 4 inches dilated..but then i delivered in 2hours!

I'm not sure has there been any huge gushes of water? When your water breaks it feels like you sat on a huge water balloon.
