Ok... if you want a good answer here you go...

The universe is everything that exist, from the largest star, to the smallest particle. There are basically two theorys on the origin of the universe, Evolution and Inteligent Design(Creationism). Now there is a whole universe of evidence from which to draw from in order to see the most plausible theory. I will present the facts and try to explain as best I can.

It is wrong, for someone that calls themself a scientist, to base ones ideology to upset the facts or to believe in theory as a law. Science should always search for evidence and facts as they are, and not base their own oppinions above the evidence. Many have done this, resulting in Science only teaching the Theory of Evolution.

The Theory of Evolution, commonly accepted as fact, is only a theory, it is not a law. Science is based upon laws and science must question itself and use the facts in order to determine something. Many choose to believe in Evolution because they cannot accept the possiblity of God. So in a way, Evolution is an ideology and a religion. The Theory states that the universe big banged itself into existance billions of years ago allong with the law of gravity, particles, speed of light, matter and everything else from nothing out of chance. To some this is unacceptable because scientific law says that atoms can neither be created nor destroyed, by natural causes. So in a way Evolutions theory of the origin of the universe is not in unison with scientific law.

I would like to now present scientific facts. FACT: DNA cannot create new information, it can only copy and shuffle existing information. Sometimes DNA loses information, resulting in birth defects, cancer, and other abnormalities. FACT: Life cannot form from non-living objects. FACT: Nothing can form from nothing, it is against scientific law.

THe Theory of Evolution says that all creatures have a common ancestor, but this is contradictory to the facts. The Facts state that DNA allows variety among each species, but does not allow transmutation into another species. The Theory also states that, atom by atom, molecule by molecule a single cell organism formed with the ability to reproduce and sustain itself, literal DNA created itself. We all know that DNA is far more advanced than our best computers, the odds of information forming by chance are less to none.
Scientific law states that matter cannot be created nor destroyed, by natural causes. Evolution states that atoms formed from the Big Bang. But there is a problem, particles in atoms repell each other as 2 north magnets do. But if by some miricle that particles formed from nothing, formed a stable nucleous and a stable electron orbit traveling at insane speeds at the same time- that would only be 1 atom.

The scientific odds of the Evolution scenario are less than zero. What else explains the universe. Creationism, which leads to a Creator. Can you accept that? Many cannot. Many would rather believe in anything short of insanity and beyond than in God... sad. But now that you know the facts, will you choose to believe them? It is your decision. The facts point to God.

"...what is the universe..."
The universe is everything there ever was, is now, or ever will be.

"...why is it always expanding..."
This is where quantum physics comes in. In the quantum realm (..spatial size of less than 1.6 x 10 minus 35 meters..) space isn't smooth but is more like a seething foam of energy. Not only does this energy drive universal expansion, but it can and does create subatomic 'virtual' particles. Science has shown that this quantum energy is really present through what's known as the Casimir Effect (see this website about that ==>http://physicsweb.org/articles/world/15/9/6) This quantum energy is also known as 'vacuum energy,' and 'zero-point-energy.'

"...how it (the universe) was formed..."
It seems that you're asking what caused the Big Bang. If so, there's absolutely no definitive answer -- except from the religious fundamentalists who think they have an answer for everything.

It is always expanding because it isn't done being created. The universe is still giving birth to it's galaxies, and they are still giving birth to their solar systems.

God made the universe. It is big. It is infinetily big. We are really small, smaller than a lot of other stuff in the universe. blarg
