No. This will result in one or both animals getting hurt and possibly dying. Do not house different species together. And besides, if it is a syrian hamster they don`t even like to be housed with other syrians. They are solitary by nature.

It is almost never recommended to mix species, especially where small animals are concerned. All small animals- hamsters, rats, gerbils, mice, etc. have different temperaments and requirements, not to mention the size differences.

It wouldn't be recommended to keep a hamster with another hamster, let alone a rat. Hamsters are solitary and territorial animals to begin with, and rats are natural predators and competitors of smaller mammals. Putting them together will ultimately end in a disastor with both likely suffering major injuries, and likely even death for the hamster (and possibly the rat, too, due to infections and wounds).

Rats should be kept with other rats, as they are social animals, but hamsters are the opposite. Please do not mix the two.

Hamsters do not like company. If you put any other animal in a cage with a hamster one, if not both of them will end up dead.

Not a good idea. If you have wild mice in your house, you know that you do NOT have rats. If you have rats in your house, you do NOT have mice. Why? Because Rats kill and eat mice...so your rat would most likely see your hampster as a weird fuzzy mouse, and you don't want that to happen.

no because they will fight and the rat will win because it is bigger and has more power to do some damage. keep them separate to avoid a blood bath and it will happen.
