the sims 2 nightlife?

I just got the Sims 2 Nightlife expansion pack today and my friend has it too except in her game, she can spawn things and when I try to I can't. Am I doing something wrong?

This is a cheat you are talking about. You do not need to buy NL to run it. It comes with all the sims 2 games and it has to be turned on manually. If you're a member of the Official Sims 2 BBS, you get to see some amazing things people do with 'boolprop' codes. It's very useful for story tellers and if carefully used, can enhance game play.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you use cheats a lot, it's like dancing or ice skating with handrails and ropes to hold you up. It's useful, but you never really learn to dance if you're hanging onto the walls. lol

Okay... This cheat option does a lot of stuff. One of the things it does is 'spawn' something called the Tombstone of Life and Death which allows story tellers and program testers to create scenarios to set up a family.

AFTER setting up the family, turn the cheat off. If you leave it running it can destroy your lot and your sim family by reporting a lot of errors from the game. There are some mods that can make some of the elements of the cheat safer to use. Some can be found on modthesims2.com

its possible your friend has the previous expansion pack (university), or perhaps an updated patch for sims 2 on her computer. Find out what version of the original game she's using,and also if she has any other expansion packs installed that you don't.

If the above fails, than talk to your friend and find out what she's doing to make things spawn. It's possible that you could be overlooking something.
