I think it depends on where you are taking it. I give the tests in my state, Tennessee, and I know it is different from what they give in California for example. If you have a good examiner they will make you feel at ease and it's just a drive in the park (or town).
Come to complete stops behind the stop lines. Know when you have the right-of-way and take it. Use proper lanes for turning and correct turn signals. Just basic stuff. Above all .... Breathe

In CA, the test is fairly simple. U drive up to the station and the instructor will tell u 2 activate the lights, signal, and horn. They'll have u point to the defrostor, emergency lights, and emergency brake. They'll make u sign a piece of paper and then off u go on the road test. Depending on the course, it can either be a simple street test, or u may have 2 go on the freeway. At 16 yrs. old, I took the street exam. They basically made me drive around the streets, testing my abilities in braking, looking behind my shoulder when signaling, and changing lanes. Also they made me pull over and back up in a straight line. I didn't have 2 do parallel parking, but it might be nice 2 practice it anyway. That's about it! Don't be nervous- play it cool and remember 2 use basic common sense. Be aware of ur surroundings and follow the traffic signals. Good blessings!

I do not know the sequence, but I could give the following advice:
1. Be alert; (2) ensure you wear your seat-belt; (3) use turn signals; (4) accelerate and brake smoothly; (5) know how to do a three point turn around; (6) be courteous; (7) some states require you to parallel park; and (8), read your drivers handbook. You might want to ask the drivers division at the local county examiners office what the requirements are - some will probably have a list of the mandatory things you have to do. Hope this helps.

Usually you parallel park and do all of the parking maneuvers first (backing and pulling into a spot) then you drive around and use your signals and such. Then comes the high way where you have to merge and change lanes once or twice then exit the freeway. Just remember to make full stops and obey the speed limit signs. Try not to get distracted or be nervous and you'll do fine! Good luck!!! :o)

The Basics are make sure both hands remain on the wheel unless you have a stick shift. Also keep them at 10 oclock and 2 oclock distance between each hand.. Watch out of your mirrors periodically, use your blinkers when turning, make sure you put your seat belt on prior to anything you do. Also the officer will test your abilities in using your judgment on going to stop signs and/or lights make sure you yield properly to other vehicles.. Good Luck. :D

Your best bet is to go to the Motor Vehicle website in the state where you live. At least in Arizona they give you tips, hints, sample questions and general answers to memorize. Good luck.

depends on where you live.. In MN you had to drive on a course and do all kinds of stuff such as fast stops, parking and many other things... In TN all you have to do is drive around the block... So there is a big diff depending on where you live...

There is NO given sequence. Be alert! Do exactly as you're told. Make a GREAT impression by the way you dress and carry yourself. Now............relax and go get it.

It's your big day. First thing when you get in the car, fasten your seat belt. When the exam instructor tells you to to pull out turn on you signal light, look in you rear view morrow then over you shoulder to check on coming traffic. when clear pull out and stay in you lane. He or she will grade you on how well you observe and obey traffic signs, how well you stay with the flow of traffic and maintain you speed. Ok he or she may say ,at the next light I wont you to make a left turn, so say your in the right hand lane, turn on your signal and looking in you rear view and side morrow merge into the left lane. When making the turn stay in your lane, never cross lanes. Also never turn crossing your arms when turning steering wheel. If you come to an uncontrolled intersection, meaning there is no stop sign or light, always stop. check to your left then right and then back to your left before proceeding. They may have you take a back street, where there is no traffic. and say ok I wont you to maintain 30 mph, when I tell you to stop, stop as fast as you can. Don't be afraid to slam on the brakes. Hit them just as fast and hard as you can. they are checking your reaction time. You will be checked on parallel parking. Turn on your signel light and pull up along side the car or pole so that your car is about half way even with the car or pole look in your morrows and over your shoulder and begin backing cutting your steering wheel hard to the right, as you are backing start strightening out your steering a little at a time, when front of your car is even with the other car cut wheels hard left, contenue backing stop just short of contact with car in back or pole. Strighten out wheels and pull forward. If you are parking going up hill turn your wheels hard left after stoping, if parking down hill turn wheels hard right. Always set parking brake. If you are ask to make a turn from a center lane, and you have to waite for oncoming traffic keep wheels stright. If some one were to rearend you you will be pushed stright forward not into on coming traffic. Good luck, you can do it, just follow what I have told you and you will be all smiles when it's over.

I suggest remembering to come to a complete stop at stop signs and red lights. Also, be careful when you do your three point turn. Try not to run over small animals and children. Also, try not to cut other people off. I always get ticked when student drivers cut me off. Makes me want to shave my eyebrows off.
