1. Move to L.A.
2. Take some acting and stick with it.
3. Do some plays
4. Film something facinating and put it up on youtube.com or google video
5. Create a myspace account and post it.
6. The movie industry is like any journeyman profession. Without the proper network or the "right people" you have to work your way up and you HAVE to be around it 24/7. This means doing whatever it takes to get close to the action.

Chicago is a great theater city. Get involved in local theater productions. Go on auditions (check the newspaper and theater trades). Try out for Second City. If your college has a filmmaking program, do some student films.

well the best why would be to start acting classes on actng in fillms or tv. You live in a great state to acting too. go to auditions

You need to study your craft, get to Columbia College in Chicago, eventually try out for Second City, and make the right connections. This is a tough business and it will be a rough road to hoe.
