A healer as in a physician or doctor should not try to exploit ppl bcos they trust him. Also a faith healer if he is spreading God's word should not try to take advantage of gullible ppl. Being selfish, manipulative, doing somthing for own gain are all bad qualities which everybody should avoid

In indeal world no. As he is the wise person to whom you would have gone to seek advice and solace. He knows you trust him and he should not break it.
But in real materialistc world, where poeple are selfish and thinking about short term solutions, so many times for any material gain they can ditch you. But if healer does not have any material gain from you the probability of ditching decreases.

In this world very few does anything without the expectation for personal gains. So, if someone is healing u, atleast the sense of healing u is adding to his pride if nothing else. So, there can be more as well.
He can manipulate because it is he to whom u r listening now, even the Christians getting all good advices from Christ could not give up the greed of colonialism, that's the human spirit.

Of course they can. Many people have been tricked out of their bux by a "healer" and Doctors do it all the time....$160 to see a Doctor for 10 minutes my ***!
