Your cousin , should have said, "give me a million dollars or I will come back" He/she may have gotten some money!
Your cousin has a good sense of humor!
If that was for real, like a scam, to get money, it would be against the law as the police spend a lot of money and have to put police on a kidnapping case.

Yeah it's illegal. There's a lady from Georgia who tried something like that and when they found out she was faking they arrested her and basically accused her of wasting the time of the police. They could have been looking for real missing people instead of fakers. She's referred to as the "Runaway Bride" after the movie.

Can I remind you of Jennifer Wilbanks aka the "runaway bride?" She had pulled this trick, leading to many hours wasted searching for her and a bunch of money used towards finding the nutjob. And yes, it is illegal as she proved and had to pay back all the money the town paid to find her plus put in community service-and this is lenient in my opinion.

Technically no, but technically yes. If you write a ransom note in your writting and the police become involved, you could face proscution for false claims or something along those lines.

I think it is a crime that run away bride on the news got into trouble for it; I think she went to jail!!!!
The tee shirt is funny though as long as that's where it stays is on the tee shirt and not a real action!!!

If you have the FBI and other authority personnel searching for you and spending thousands of dollars looking for you, you will go to jail or Juvie!!

lol, it's only illegal if someone pretends they are kidnapped and tries to get the ransom money actually yes that is illegal but if they do what your cousin (soooo cute lol) then I guess she won't have to do any time :)

Um, how little? If she was under 9, funny. If she was over, probably looking at illegalities (if anyone took her seriously).

I suppose if the FBI got involved it wouldn't be funny; i think it is. but its extortion and if you waste there time im sure you'd be punished pretty good. not a good thing if it really happened cry Wolf
