One part of me is saying I should become a rapper, the other part of me is saying I should continue school and proceed to college.

I am pretty good when it comes to punchlines when I'm warmed up when I'm freestyling, but then again, nowadays standards...the only way you can sell records is if you make a good club banger.

Any suggestion?

PLEASE go to college, but continue rapping in your spare time. Go to a school with a lot of artists (NYU?) and study music production or something like that.

I strongly suggest continuing school and proceeding college.

Nowadays the only way to make it in is if you know people. I'm sure if you knew anyone then you might not be asking this question, lol. Even if you do want to become a rapper you should still continue school and move to college. You never know.

I couldn't be more positive about my answer.
I hope you make the right choice.
Good luck. ♥

Continue to school and focus getting a degree at least. There are way too many people out there has BA or BS. Getting a degree just help you to survive.
At the same time, take your time and try get a night time job in Club. Get some connection there, show off your skill chould chance allow, from there you will know better what you should choose.

Do both, you can still work on your freestyle, and punchlines while you go to school. Even if you score a huge record deal, you need something to fall back on if it ends up being a one hit wonder. Plus it wouldn't hurt to have some education when it's time to start your own label, clothing company etc....

Do both. While you are working on your rhymes you can get your grades. You have to look for something to fall back on. If you were smart you would be freestylin' while organizing parties for the college students to get some serious paper while in school and help further your career. People don't just become a rapper. Look at K-Fed but if you got skill be wise and stay in school. Find your hustle and get on your grind.

Is there absolutely any reason you can't do both? I mean go to school get your degree, rap in the clubs on the weekends. When you graduate pursue your rap career. If it doesn't work you can fall back on your degree, right? A little hard maybe but well worth the effort either way!!!!

My suggestion to you is to finish school, and maybe take a course in music, its not as easy as it would seem to break into the music business these days. You would do better with a Job that you could fall back on if your dream does not come to bare fruite. Be smart and finish you education its the only way to make something of yourself in todays world

I don't see the problem. You sound like you have your head together so why no tackle both at the same time? It is like a football player going to college so he has a back up just in case he gets hurt on the field. I wanted to be an author as well as a Nurse, I did both. Don't limit yourself, these experiences will enlighten you even more.

Your future will remain uncertain unless you make preparations for your future today. Go to school first, that's a priority.

Now, if you think you're that good. Go for an audition, hang out with a crew (a good crew not the gang-bangers ok?), cut a demo tape, stay focused.

Reality 101: Keep pushing doors....somethings bound to open up.

Lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it, you're never ever ever gonna let it go.

You've only got got one shot do not miss your chance to blow.

I'm with that other girl, why not do both. It's always a GREAT idea to have a plan B. The fame can fade from being a rapper but NO ONE can take your education away.

You'd probably have a better chance with a successful career after college than a one a million chance at becoming a successful rapper.
