If you have not thrown it and had it rejected. My friend and I had this discussion and he said hey it is not their money either so why not take toll money from the coin return. My opinion was it is not yours so leave it to them. Who is correct in this situation? And are their any laws or policies against that?

It is illegal to take any coin returned that is not due to you. It iis legally part of the state and there are laws against taking money from there that is not yours.

This is also true for soda machines, copy machines whether or not it is a public or private. If the money is not yours you have no right to it.

-I dont think there are any laws or policies against it...you'll just have your subconscience screaming_Guilty!_for taking something that is not yours, but hey thats the way most people are brought up, to not take whats not yours. In this case there's a loophole to that 'rule'.

in one way it could be called stealing,,and then in another it couldn't,,it would all depend on who saw you get it out of there,,and whether or not they thought it was your,s,,i guess this falls in the category of finding a 50 dollar bill in a grocery store,,this happened to me a few months ago,,i sure didn't hold it up,,and say,,hey did anyone loose a 50 dollar bill,, i would have gotten mobbed over it probably,,i picked it up,,and considered it my lucky day,,so i am unsure on this one,,it probably falls in the category of free money ,,i hope this help,s.

its just money. Its been left there becuase the owner doesn't want it.
So, i think that its pretty much free for the world to take.
