I've been acting on stage since I was 5. I may not be an expert at this kind of thing, but the best advice I can give you is to be yourself. Try not to act how other people do just to impress some director. Most of the directors that I've worked with in the past like people to be what I would call "individual". If you're nervous, then that's cool. Even some of the most famous actors in the world get stagefright. Believe it or not, John Gielgud suffered from severe stagefright. Plus, don't take rejection to heart. Just keep going. The more you try, the more sure of yourself you'll be. Practice at home or in front of your friends and family whenever you can. The more you practice, the better you'll get. Just go on there, be yourself, and have fun! Peace!

Get training. When I say training, I mean training in the art... You arte the perfect age for *trumpets* An Arts Academy!!!!
Interlochen Arts Academy
Idyllwild Arts academy
North Carolina School of the arts
Go to their websites TODAY and apply. They are prestigious boarding schools that if you gety in, will teach you everything you need to know, plus help get you into amazing colleges.
Idyllwild Arts is Stanislavski based, and I would reccomend it. So fill out an application, send in a video, and boom.
It is so much more important to know the craft. Some people think its easy, like they can just "do it". STUDY STUDY STUDY.
Also, remember theres more to theatre than broadway. Smaller, well paying companies are best.
Train classicaly, when it comes to voice. Once you know the roots of your craft, you can do almost anything. If you try to sing like the people from rent or wicked, you wont be able to do anything else.
Good luck.

I've done alot of plays and have many friends that are making careers for themselves in the industry on the East Coast and the West Coast. One night we were all sitting around talking about what is going through your head the split second before you make your first entrance on stage every night. I told my friends, the only word that flashes through my brain, like a red cape to a bull, is the word, "ATTACK". I'M ABOUT TO WALK ON STAGE AND I WILL MAKE MY PRESENCE KNOWN TO THE AUDIENCE. I'M COMING OUT WITH ALL GUNS BLAZING! SO THOSE OF YOU ON STAGE, EITHER KEEP UP WITH ME OR GET OUT OF THE WAY. I'M HERE TO ENTERTAIN THE AUDIENCE, AND I CAN ONLY DO THAT IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't overact. Just command stage presence.

I say go to any audition you can get to even if you don't think you fit the part. Get your face and name known. The more eager you are the more they remember you. There will be a part out there for you and you will get yourself in the limelight! It is all in how you sell yourself! Good luck and remember me when you are famous!!
