most schools of nursing require prerequistes which may last 1 or 2 years depending on how many classes you take per semester and if you are going for your LVN(licensed vocational nurse) or your RN (registered nurse). Then you apply to the school of nursing, depending on your grades and enrollment, the actual nursing school lasts 1 year for LVN and 2 years for RN.
Look to state colleges and universities, also community colleges offer LVN and some RN programs as well.
GOOD LUCK

Most community and four year colleges offer nursing programs. You can become a registered nurse in two years going to school full time. Part time will take you two and one half years. Sometimes you have to be put on a waiting list to get into a nursing program so you should take your prerequisite classes, including English, biology, etc. first. I spent five years going to school part time to get my RN. The program itself took 2 1/2 years. But it is well worth it!

You can be a CNA after about 1 year, and Associates (2 yr) LPN, 4 years you can be a LPN. Most schools are accredited so almost any nursing program should be in an accredited program.
