Don't take a hot steamy shower. Instead, take a warm one. I've always had this with morning sickness, so I took lukewarm showers. If this doesn't work, settle for a bath. It's the standing up that can make you dizzy too.
For morning sickness, you can take Emetrol. Or, take 1/2 unisom gel cap at night with a B6 vitamin. I like the gel caps because they're easy to cut.
Keep yourself hydrated. Make sure that you're taking sips of water as often as you can. Dehydration causes morning sickness too.
I've tried the ginger root - eewww. And, doesnt work. Ginger ale soda has no nutritional value, and the kind of soda that has real gingerale in it is really hard to find. Not worth it. Those preggie pops - really expensive, taste good - but my sugar highs were so high...that when I had my sugar low I had super bad migraines.
If you feel like the morning sickness is more than you can bear, talk to your doctor. Mine gave me a prescription (Zofran) which helped a lot.

I was very fortunate that I didn't suffer with morning sickness (thank God!) during either of my pregnancies, but I did have a problem with queasiness in the shower after a surgery I had several years ago. I found that taking a cool shower helped immensely. There was something about inhaling the steam that just made the bile rise up in my throat. Also, the shorter the shower, the less chance I had of becoming nauseous.
Have you tried a bath instead? I know bathing is sort of gross...all the dirt and dead skin just sticks to your skin when you stand up out of the water, but a quick rinse with cool water from the shower after you're finished bathing would take it off. :)

When I was pregnant I had the same thing!
Ok, first off, when do you take your showers?
I used to get more of a night sickness then morning but I got it both. So, if you usually get sick in the morning, try taking a shower at night before you go to sleep, then you won't be feeling queasy before you get in the shower.
I'm sure you have heard the soda crackers by the bed one, eat one before you get up, I also found that after asking my doctor, some stuff such as pepto bismol can be taken

Can you take a bath? I don't know if you have a bath or not. Some people don't, but it might be better for you than a shower. Maybe even a sponge bath, it would be better than risking a fall. I think the only problem I had with showers when I was pregnant was my feet swelled really bad and I had a hard time standing for very long, especially the last 3 months or so.

According to a nutritionist who gave a short seminar meeting for my mother in the 1970s, the queasiness felt by pregnant women is from a shortage of primarily vitamin B6, which I guess has something to do with the health of the inner ear.
She told us that she had carried six children and suffered so much from morning sickness, that she was almost bedridden during that period of her pregnancies, until the last few, when she took extra vitamin B6 and had no discomfort from morning sickness at all.
And if you are talking about drinking soda (flat or not), please don't. Soda waters leech calcium from your system. You may already know that your child will take what calcium it needs from your system, even if it rots your teeth and weakens your bones.
The shortage of B6 comes from the mother not taking in enough to cover her needs and the needs of her child. Again, the developing child takes what it needs from the environment (the mother), regardless of the quantity of supply, and the child needs a lot while it builds its body.
Stay well.

Actually, sitting in the shower is a good idea. Get a plastic step-stool to sit on. Turn down the temperature of the water just a little too. Water that's too warm makes me queasy, pregnant or not. Turn on the bathroom vent, or open a window if your bathroom has one. Even cracking the door a tiny might help, if there's no threat of someone walking in on you.

Try taking cooler showers. Sometimes when I take showers I feel like I'm going to faint..it helps if the temp of the water is cooler.
Also, I've heard that chewing on a little piece of ginger root (don't swallow the root though, just chew and spit the thing out) helps with morning sickness..maybe try chewing in that before going hopping into the shower. You can get ginger root at a local grocery store.

The feelings you may be having can also be due to high blood pressure or changes in blood pressure during pregnancy. This is very common, however you should have this checked by your OB/GYN to make sure it is not a severe case of preclampsia. Also, for your problem I would advise you to use a mild smelling soap, as well as colder water. Sometimes warm water drops or raises blood pressure, which can increase/decrease blood flow to the stomach and increase your nauseosness.
Good luck with the baby and Congrats!

I'm not pregnant and sometimes I feel queasy from the heat of the shower....it feels overwhelming sometimes. The best thing to do is drink cold water and take a cool shower.
