In Hero, they both had starring roles.
Tootsie starred Hoffman but Davis was a supporting character. Jessica Lange was the female lead in Tootsie.

Tootsie AND Hero.

To help you more with your question:

Tootsie is a 1982 production about an unemployed actor with a reputation for being difficult that disguises himself as a woman to get a role in a soap opera.

And Hero is a 1992 production about a not-so-nice man who rescues passengers from a crashed airliner, only to see someone else take credit. Also starring Andy Garcia as John Bubber who takes the credit for what Dustin Hoffman (Bernard Leplante) did.

Hope that helps :)

This saucy spin on Frank Capra's "Meet John Doe" is an acerbic--and often tremendously funny--indictment of american hero-worship. Andy Garcia is revered for having rescued passengers from a stricken airplane; unfortunately, he's taking credit for an act actually performed by small potatoes criminal Dustin Hoffman. Director, Stephen Frears Cast, Dustin Hoffman, Geena Davis, Andy Garcia, Joan Cusack, Chevy Chase, Tom Arnold. 1992
