For dances or routines if you add in word cues with your counts it would help you remember. For example if the counts for the dance were a simple 8 count. You could replace numbers with words that would help. For example instead of 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 you could replace numbers with the moves: hold one, walk two, turn 3 and 4, hold 5 clean six up seven high V 8. You could also write down the moves on a piece of paper and first learn the words really well then try to associate the words with the moves.

when I was cheerleading, we used moves that matched what the chant was.. example "roll em down, run them over" we would use our hands in a rolling motion, and push down.. etc"
