I am in marketing yet my degree is in chemistry.
Marketing organizations generally run the business side of the company. They own the product. They manage the customers, set the pricing, oversee the production, provide support and decide how to promote the product.
The graphic design industry used to be huge but now there are many computer programs available so most companies really don't need to hire a full time graphic artist.
It is important to realize that the university system does not train you for a specific job. It teaches you how to learn new skills so you can keep pace with the changing job market.
If you want to be an artist or musician then you need to truly love it and live it. There are so many naturally talented people out there to compete against.

First of all, if you want a career in art, then I suggest you take a course in art. Otherwise, just focus on your main goals and/or specialties. Some courses that associates with marketing, advertising, music and graphic design is working with a large company like Geico, Vonage or a commercial company. Hope that helps and so, I must say good luck in finding what you're looking for.
Great courses would be in business or computer course. Also, maybe in entertainment course.

Yes you still have more than a little chance. If that is your passion, and your ideas are worthy, then you can go far if teamed up with the right people., (Their strength your weakness and visa versa) Art is a matter of patience and developing your eye as well as hand to eye coordination. You would be surprised what you can do with a computer, a camera, and paintshop. Talk to several people in the field and see what they say. Your teachers and counselors are a good choice to speak with also.

Although it is true, some people have a natural flair for art, whilst others are not as (ahem) gifted - When I first started my art courses I was not very good, but once you get to grasps with it, it's like everything you improve! I'd start by practising on still life, look up and down continusly until you the hand and eye movement just right! Send me a signed masterpiece when your rich!
