Just pick something. You are wasting alot of time deliberating and these days people live a very long time - even if you pick one path and decide at some point you do not like it - at least you tried and if you don't like it anymore you can pick something else. I wanted to be a lawyer or a psychiatrist. When I was 17 though I thought I would pick something lower key till I was sure. I went to fashion school and here I am many years later - still in the same field. I never really regretted my choice - what I would have regretted more was floating around for a few years and trying to make a decision.

Even though the things that you want to do take time and money, if that is what you really want to do with your life as far as a career, then I say go for it, I mean how many people really love there job?
If this is really something you want to do, then you should, you do not want to look back and regret the choice that you made and be unhappy doing something you can't stand! If money is an issue there are programs to help with that, if you qualify! If you do what you are most passionate about that way, if things don't work out, then at least you can say that you followed your dreams and did what made you happy! I hope that this will help! Good luck and God Bless!

Talk to counsellor(s) at the local college(s)... they can help.
Education prepares you to learn in the real world. Try not to limit the paths you can follow with the education you decide on (Early Childhood Education is rather limited for example - but computer & Science fields can be stepping stones)... something that doesn't have a glass ceiling would be good too!
How about archealogy?

Try holistic medicine, acupuncture. Both fields are in high demand now as the whistle has been blown on the pharmaceutical industry. The doctors are the fodder for the drug companies. Read about Monsanto, http://www.organicconsumers.org Do something that has a purpose & a reason.

I became a writer--even though I shuffled from one boring job to the next.
It's the only thing which has helped keep my insanity in check.
