A phone cord can mean a lot of things. If you mean the cord that goes between the hanset and the phone- then NO.

If you mean the cord that goes between the phone jack in the wall and your phone and you want to plug it into the DSL modem instead- then YES. It will work. But you will need a DSL line filter to avoid hearing the screaming noises on the other phones!

The DSL cord you're refering to is the category 5 (Cat5) or Cat5e ethernet cable with RJ-40 5 connectors at each end. It has 8 instruments of wires interior as hostile to the common telephone cord which makes use of the smaller RJ-11 connectors and has 2-4 wires interior. you could purely ask the save for an ethernet cable on your DSL modem to connect along with your computer and they'll understand what you're talking about. good success!

Your regular phone cord cannot replace an ethernet cord (dsl or cable modem cord).

i dont exactly know whats a dsl cord.

if your refering to the cable from your modem to the phone lines socket, its should be the same, but you will have to add a filter to filter out "noise" from telephone calls.

the cable from the modem to the computer, is a network cable, its much thicker, for faster data transfer. though some modems are still using usb connection.

that was for my place. dsl connection setup might b different in other areas.

You need a phone cord to go from the wall to the modem, and you need an ethernet cord to go from the modem to the computer.

If you're referring to the cable which runs from your DSL modem or router to the phone jack, this is just a standard phone cable as far as I'm aware.

In this country we use ADSL and the cable here is just a standard phone cable, usually covered silver.
