What is the difference between peri and pre menopause?

I have to agree with the first answer. Pre menopause is when your periods may start skipping. You may experience spotting, but there are usually no other symptoms such as hot flashes or night sweats. Perimenopause is usually described by OBGYN's as the several years before and after your last period. At this time, symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and vaginal dryness start to appear.

Peri is the beginning of the beginning.You arent really having the night sweats,and the periods have not stopped,but you may be experiencing some hot flashes during the day.Pre menopause is more of the drastic stuff.

pre is when you begin to skip periods and or your periods are late...peri is other symptons...hot flash...night sweats...feeling teary..
