Bravo.
Turn the other cheek if you see something you dont like. Because something you like will offend someone else.
YOU CANT MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY.
I wish everyone would stop whining about that, like taking "Christmas" out of stores. HELLO. Would we be celebrating it without the birth of Christ? No. You dont have to go praying and singing praises but dont change what it is!
Ugh!

You bring up some very good points. Yes, everything is becoming politically correct, but society has a long way to go before it actually stops offending others. I learned a long time ago that you can't please everyone, so as long as you're within the law, you might as well just please yourself.
Re the gay marriage issue -- I see nothing wrong with gays having some kind of legal union that would entitle them to the death benefits of their partners, and be included as next of kin in funeral announcements and hospital stays. Maybe the solution would be if they would rename their commitment "joining" or "legal union" instead of "marriage", which is so steeped in the traditional man/woman throes of the word, they might get somewhere in the legislature. Also, I see nothing wrong in a gay couple adopting a child. They can be better as parents than some of the abusive legally married people. When some biased individuals are given the power to dictate to the majority, we no longer have a democracy -- we have communism.
Yes, I agree with your concerns. You have some legitimate arguments.

The only people who are free to speak their minds are the folks who are trying to rebel. Think about it.. for example, all the folks condemning prayer in schools.. why do they win and the folks who want it lose? What makes one better than the other? Why can't it be both parties do as they choose..?? A person has just as much right to pray in public as those who do not want to hear it. The politically correct sh#t is really starting to get to me. I do not agree with legalizing gay marriages, that is a religious rite... however, that would not be an issue if a gay persons significant other were legally allowed be next of kin ( so to speak), ... I am with ya here..

My thoughts: (1) manger scene is ok as long as not officially endorsing a specific religion (Thomas Jefferson: 'Erecting the "wall of separation between church and state," therefore, is absolutely essential in a free society.'). (2) signs w/ multiple languages: It's about time our xenophobia ended and multi-lingual support started (like Europe and other countries; plus, there is no official language in the U.S. (3) Agree with gays marrying. Finally, in summary, the whole point of a) ensuring that no religion is tacitly or overtly endorsed by the state and b) supporting multiple languages is to go in the direction you're advocating: just live and let live and not put unfair restrictions on people and their practices.

You're not crazy. You are simply opinionated, outspoken, and logical. That's good, i would say.
YOU CAN NEVER PLEASE EVERYBODY -that should be the Golden Rule.
So, what do I do? I don't mind what others say, although I would consider some. I simply keep doing the RIGHT thing? How do I know it's right? Well: 1) If it is fair with all concerned 2) if i ain't hurting anyone in the process 3) if it promotes freedom of expression in a reasonable way 4) ...and it should feel good without any BURDEN on my conscience. I am NOT perfect. I just keep learning everyday =)

I agree with you 100%. Where I live we have the same problem. We have grocery stores that are in Spanish and had all the English speaking people have a choice. Either learn Spanish or go somewhere else to work. This is not the American way. Our language is English. I have no problem with people speaking their own language at home, but we should not be force to learn how to speak and read in other languages. They even make the kindergarten children learn to speak Spanish in school. The poor little ones can barely speak their own English language and now are forced to learn Spanish. I too say let's stop trying to please certain people and get on with our lives. This is supposed to be America.

You are getting political and moral issues mixed into this.
Legalizing marriage for gays is not necessary...they can be commom law partners and still get what they want without trying to shame marriage for heterosexuals.
Considering this is a Chriistian nation, from the beginning, we should have the manger scenes still up. We don't stop others from practicing their religion, but they need to respect our national religion.
I could care less if someone has a sign I can't read in another language, I'm not going to frequent that establishment.
I think this "political correctness" has gone way past what it was intended.

We have freedom of speech but to use that against another person because you don't agree with them becomes harassment. If you don't agree with someone, keep it to yourself, because it is just your opinion. I think people who try to get everyone else to change to their way of seeing things is not living in a realistic world. One has to realize that everyone has an opinion and should not be forced to change because someone disagrees with them.

"Politically correct" is taking over freedom of speech and opinion.
If you say something bad -but true- about a minority it is racism, fascism ,anti..whatever ism etc.
If you say something bad -but true- about a majority it is analysis ,history ,facts etc.
Accepting and agreeing are 2 different things. We should accept even if we don't agree. But we should have the right to dissagree openly without anyone shouting "offence".
