Do what my family and I did... we threw the dog in the backyard... it is very disgusting and you really can not do anything about it... Just run, kick, and scream when you see your dog.

Why do you want to put your pet thru that torture? It usually takes 7 weeks. Get the poor thing spayed, so you don't have bloody spots all over. And what about the puppies? Don't you care what happens to them? They could end up in the wrong hands. There are so many puppies & dogs in the pounds & shelters that are being euthanized, that they rather do that than give them away. Shame on you.

These are all things you should have looked into well before now. She should not be bred for AT LEAST one more heat cycle...longer for some breeds. She needs to be healthy and current on vaccinations before breeding. You need to do a lot of research on caring for pregnant dogs, birthing, and caring for pups. In addition, depending on her breed, there are health certifications she should receive before breeding...some of these have a minimum age. These are all issues you need to discuss with her vet before you even consider breeding her. Breeding is something best left to professional breeders as it is not easy, and takes a lot of commitment and possibly money on your part. Are you prepared to pay for a c-section (typically at least a few hundred dollars or more) or care for puppies that she won't care for or pay for vaccinations and care for her and the pups? Do her and yourself a favor and please spay her. You'll be saving the lives of many dogs in the process, and likely saving hers. If you insist on breeding, do it the right way and wait til she's old enough, and talk to the vet!!!!

If the male dog is neutered, you have nothing to worry about. If not, let your dog decide when she is ready, and don't worry... most dogs (excluding chow and pitbull) will immediately get along with other dogs.
You talk as though your dog is your 16 year old daughter.

any vet will tell you never breed a dog in thier first cycle wait until she is 2 yrs old and breed her. go to a pet store and pick up a book on your dog, it will tell you gestation period, size of litter, and all the things that you should know and need to know.
