If you remember when NWO got real big and Lex Lugar kept trying to get Sting to join he did but to keep from aligning himself to the Black and White NWO they became the Red NWO or the Wolfpack. THe BLack and white was lead by Hogan and the Red by Macho Man then soon Kevin Nash and there was constant tension between the two factions and fans kept expecting them to fight but instead it culminated into a big showdown with Hogan and Nash and then they remerged fooling the audience but Sting never merged instead went on his own.
Here is the Wolfpack

In wrestling, the factions change members all the time, sometimes while still keeping the same number of members like the 4 horsemen.
The NWO had many members, most of whom were from the WWF such as Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Hollywood Hogan, Macho Man, Ted DiBiase, Curt Hennig, Syxx,... and others like The Giant, Konnan, Eric Bischoff, Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell, The Disciple...
This huge stable split into Wolfpac and Hollywood.
The Wolfpac version was: Nash, Macho Man, Konnan, Lex Luger, Sting (also NWO Red and Black).
NWO Hollywood (Black and White) which had Hogan, Bischoff, Hall, Hennig, Bagwell, Scott Steiner, The Disciple (Brutus the Barber).
There even was a NWO in WWE after the take over: Hogan, Nash, Hall, Xpac (Syxx), Big Show (The Giant) plus V McMahon, Booker T, Shawn Micheals.
Take a look at the 'history' and more complete stables:

The wolfpack was just a group. NWO was just the federation. It's all merged into one now the WWE. But wolrfpack was like the cool group for NWO as DX was for WWF.

the Wolfpac was started when Kevin Nash and Hogan started to have disagreements. The original nWo was started by Hogan Hall and Nash ... but after Hogan and Nash started to have problems then Nash branched off and created nWo Wolfpac .. difference being Hogan lead the black and white nWo or Hollywood and Kevin Nash was the leader for for the black and red nWo or the Wolfpac as it is better known as .The "NWO Wolfpac" faction itself was headed and created (in storyline) by Kevin Nash not Randy Savage he came back and joined the Wolfpac later on.
