Your husband/wife is locked up in two seperate cages 5 feet apart. In each cage is a big red button. Your captor says you both must make a choice. If one of you presses the button the other dies, If no one or both of you presses the button, you both die. What do you do? press or do not press the button?

Die together it would be better than dying a slow death of guilt

I'll ask my captor to press the button so that my wife would be safe and sound.

At least,my wife can take good of my children or my parents.

It's better for 1 person to die than 2 persons.

basically if I pressed the red button I would be killing my husband, and my life would be no life at all knowing I had been responsible for his death... I would tell him to press his button so at least one of us could be saved. I would imagine we'd both die together because I doubt either of us could press it.

Personally, I would want my husband to press the button. I'm tired and I want to see my Dad and Grandma. Realistically, he would MAKE me press the button. He would be lost without me and would be miserable. So he says.

Both die, because if only one died then the one who servived would be lonely for the rest of their life. They'd also feel very guilty.

Die together.
I am more afraid of something I'm close to dying, rather than myself dying.

It depends on if you have kids. If not, I say neither push it and you go together. If you have kids, you have to decide together who they need more.
