It really depends upon the State involved. Your salary can be garnished and bank accounts frozen. They can take your home under certain circumstances. In fact, if they place it with an agency who collects on judgements, they will hound you forever. You will never be able to have anything in your name. Even if you move to another state, that state could have reciprosity and the collection agency will go after you there also. See if you can make arrangements to pay an agreeable amount each week or month, until such time as the judgement is paid, unless you want to be harrassed and hounded the rest of your life.

Efforts to collect on the judgment begin: wage attachment, lien on any real estate, post-judgment legal procedures to collect the debt, in which you have to show a judge why you cannot pay anything on the judgment, levy on your motor vehicle, if it has any equity, levy on other personal property with any value.
You want to stop it, look into bankruptcy.

Don't expect to collect if you win the lottery or inherit money until they take out you what you owe in the judgement.
