I'm 13 years old and 5'9 (I'm really tall) and I'm slightly overweight whats the best way to lose some weight and get in shape without becoming anorexic or putting myself in danger?

Good question. Good to hear a girl your age not want to be anorexic.
At your age most women have a bit more baby fat than they want to have. You will thin out as you become an adult, unless you eat wrong.

Never go on a diet.......make a life style change,
Take smaller portions. Never supersize anything.
Drink lots of water. Soda is not a food group. Back when I was a kid we had soda maybe twice a year, now people drink soda all day long. Even diet sodas are bad for you...it contributes to abdominal weight and also the artificial sweetners are like shoving basket balls through your kidneys.

Eat a balanced diet and check lables for portions. For instance as Americans we fill up a cereal bowl with no concept for portion size. If you check the box you might be eating four portions at one time. Ouch way too many calories and carbs.

Make sure you have at least two or three fruits a day and four portions of vegtables a day. Eat meat but in smaller portions. Watch out for salads that have tons of cheese and fattening '
A little cheese is ok. Use a smaller plate when you eat.
If you are having a sandwich use low fat mayo and just eat the one half of the sandwhich, Later if you are hungery, eat the second half. Snack every two hours. Never more than 100 calories a snack unless you are eating half of the meal you ate earlier. Have a general knowledge of calories. If you obcessed with them you will drive everyone nuts. it is better to watch portions than calories.
If your body feels starved it will set off a primative thing in your body called the famine effect. .You body will start to hang on to every piece of fat and will produce more fat in your body becasue is it protecting you from the famine, YOUr body doesn't know you are dieting, It wasn't long ago that humans would fatten up in the spring and summer becauese in the winter they would barely have enough to eat.

Also, consider your body a very expensive car. Would you put in cheep oil and gas in that car? Would you drive that car into a desert without making sure you have enough gas and oil and air conditioning. No, you would prepare for a trip and take good care of your expensive car. Treat your body well. What you eat is what you will be and who you will be. There is nothing wrong with having a piece of pizza, but five pieces no way. Ice cream...once in awhile.....and maybe choose frozen yogert instead.
Don't get rid of fat or carbs because your body needs those things.
Increase your physical activity. Walk, swim- you would be amazed at how much even five minutes a day exercise can have on your body

the best way to lose weight is to eat as you do but burn up more than you take in, some people think that if you eat less you will lose weight an that is true to a point but you are harming yourself most of the time because the body has to eat itself to keep you going so it send a message to the brain to eat what it has stored but it don't have anything to eat because you ha been not eating but when you eat an lose the body has a chance to take in account of thing an say we got enough so let lose this an you Begin to lose more than if you had not eaten an along with exercises hey you can lose as much as you would like

It's great that you are concerned about staying healthy. It is important to remember that it is perfectly normal for a girl your age to have a little extra body fat in diferent places. It may go away on its own in a few years.

If you want to stay healthy, drink lots of water, eat fresh vegitables, lean meats, and whole grain cereals and breads. Try to stay away from fast food and junk food. Get involved in sports and out door activities. Limit the amount of TV you watch.

If you live a healthy lifestyle as your number one goal, your weight will almost ALWAYS even itself out.

go vegan.. I lost 150 lbs this way..your body will stabilize to your frame on this diet..and I highly suggest a good work out in both strength and aerobic
