No, without a service provider, the only thing you can do with your phone is dial 911. It has to be activated with a provider to do anything else, unless you have games on it,.lol

No, this is inpossible because their is special software inside of all prepaid phones that deducts the minutes off the phone. When your contract is up just go month to month without signing new contract.

You may be able to. My advice would be to ask the people in the store where they sell the prepaid cards. I think that you will still keep your phone number as well. They passed a federal law that requires the carriers to allow people to retain their phone numbers.

Some carriers will NOT allow you to keep your number when going from regular service to prepaid!! If you go to another carrier with a regular contract, you most likely can keep it, if you do not wait too long.

If it's unlocked, yes, specially if it's tri-band. Just buy a prepaid sim card.

THESE REALLY ARE QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD BE ASKING YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER.
if you want to stay with T mobile then more than likely you can.
But if you want to go to another service provider more than likely not because they would have to put their SW on your phone, and T mobile will not give you the 6 digit code (a subsidy code set by the manufacturer) it is considered INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY.

Yes the work with just about any service. AT&T and T-Mobile both require SIM cards so just buy a SIM card and plan and insert it to your phone. VZW or sprint don't require SIM cards just activation

there is no monthly fee if you have prepaid service; you just buy the minutes as you need them. it will depend on what service provider that you go with if you can keep your number.
