Tilapia.
Tilapia is the common name name used for a variety of cichlid fishes of the genera Oreochromis, Sarotherodon, and Tilapia. Tilapias inhabit a variety of fresh and, less commonly, brackish water habitats from shallow streams and ponds through to rivers, lakes, and estuaries. Most tilapias are omnivorous with a preference for soft aquatic vegetation and detritus.
Because of their large size, good flavour, and rapid growth rate, many tilapias are at the focus of major fishing and aquaculture efforts.
Today tilapia is one of the new, exciting species arriving in restaurants and homes across the country. With an exotic and ancient past, tilapia is native to the Nile River, Africa, and Asia. Tilapia has a long history of feeding pharaohs and kings. Now farm-raised in Central and South America, tilapia is flown in daily. We're sure you’ll enjoy these mild, sweet-tasting fillets. There are plenty of tilapia recipes to choose from because the tilapia fish is versatile and takes seasonings well. Be sure to try grilled tilapia for a real treat.

Pending on where you live it may be purchased fresh or frozen. As others have already stated it is Tilapia, and pending on how it is cooked it is wonderful. I worked in a fish processing plant for a while and we used to get samples in to try and come up with ideas on how to flavor it and cook it. Being it was done at work we cooked it on a george forman grill or in the microwave, and both ways it was good with what ever seasoning we put on it.

Talapia is a white fish that you can generally find at any supermarket. Sometimes it is in the fresh fish section but can often be found frozen. The taste of the fish is mild and can be cooked a variety of ways. It generally takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it with. The taste of the fish itself isn't anything super.

Talipia is lovely - you can get it from Tesco's, etc. now - most supermarkets. We had it last week - lightly pan-fried, with a crust made from lemon, parsley and garlic. Try to get the fillets - saves a lot of hassle with the bones. Don't try to grill it - that failed miserably for us!
Enjoy - a very pleasant fish.

Tilapia is the right name for this fish, it is a caribbean fish, which is good for steaming, frying, and baked, very tender even cooked from frozen. I know you can get it in East London especially in Indian fish shops and Queens market in Forest Gate good luck.

I've had Tilapia before, but didn't care for it. Maybe it was the way it was cooked. I prefer Orange Roughy, but I'm not really big on sea food.

I do not know where you can get it other than in specialist shops You may like to try places where there might be shops nearby which specialise in herbs or organic food etc as they might be your best bets. But here is a smashing recipe with very subtle ingredients which I thought you may like to look at:
