Well everyone says that I am emo, but I don't think that I am. The kind of music I listen to is Hawthorne Heights. Well that's my favorite band. I dress in band t-shirts, um I usually where a tie with my shirts, and I were jeans most of the time. My favorite color is red, and I do feel depressed all the time, but does that mean that I am emo? Ugh I just need to know. Thanks

Emo is a type of music that has morphed into clothing somehow. From what you've described of yourself it is on the Emo side. Most people that are Emo are more depressed, but if that were rightly so, then about half the people on this earth that are depressed could be considered Emo. And I don't know any 80 year olds that wear studded belts and tight pants or listen to Dashboard, just because they're depressed.
Having your favorite color be red doesn't mean anything. Colors are colors. So I will say this. Yes you are Emo because you listen to the Genre Emo. No you are not Emo just because you're depressed or like red or because you wear band shirts. It's your own personal style.
This is to the idiot that said Emo's slit their wrists. Wake up dorkus...Slitting wrists has been around for a couple thousand years. Emo has been around for about 5 or so. Do you see a difference? Because I do...

But don't put labels on you, people is not plain to have characteristics that fits completely their personalities; there are people who believe in God but ain't catholic at all...

natalie my friend calls me emo all te time but im really happy more than i am depress i dont know when ever i wear something black samantha and stephanie call me gotic which is stupid because they dont even know what that is people just call you a bunch of stuff cuz their stupid dont even know what theyre talking about

ya well kinda, im like that 2, but i wouldnt call, it emo, cause that kinda means like emotional and stuff like that but...ya, so what i do is just find stuff 2 keep my mind off the tuff that makes me depressed...it works 4 me...

Emo people are emotional, they hate the world!! They slit there wrist and sometimes kill themselves. Hope it helps!!
