Do your room in different purples. Do the walls one color in the purple category, then another for the bed clothes, throw pillows, lamp shades etc.

This will make your room very relaxing and calming.
Also get a lot of lavender scented candles to burn, this is a very relaxing scent while trying to chill.

It seems you want a room that says, "I'm all grown up." Light colors will often make a room appear larger. Therefore, chose a soft muted color, such as a light caramel or butter cream. You also need an accent wall. Choose a wall that catches the eye as soon as you walk in the room (usually it's the wall farthest away). Personally, I would go with a burnt orange, a sage, or a deep red for that wall. I live in a loft were I painted each wall a different color. My furniture is simple but my walls speak volumes. It's awesome!

Good Luck

Years ago, everybody thought I was crazy when I said I wanted to paint my room a deep purple. There was a skylight above, so I wasn't too concerned about the room being too "dark." My live-in boyfriend at the time was an artist (a crazy one at that) & he obliged my request by mixing some really nice shade of purple at his studio.

The results were awesome! The border trim was done in hunter green, and it had a cool & calming effect - a nice way to wind down the day!

Wallflower made by Behr paint. One coat will do it and it is the prettiest sage-y green. Very soothing and goes with a lot of other colors.

Also a Latte color can be nice with white trim.

Pick out a favorite piece of furniture or art and take a color from that to base your room on.

What about Tan, it would match any thing and it is a popular color right now. You could always make a border any color u wanted to add color to it.

You shouldn't be afraid of being "too girly" unless you are a boy.

What would you think of a man who said he wasn't going to paint his room a certain color because that color was "too masculine" or "too macho" or "too manly"?

I find it very odd that a girl would be afraid of being "too girly". That's what everybody likes about girls - their girliness.

Just did my bathroom in a "moss green". Anything goes with it as far as accents such as tan, brown, black, burgandy, bright white, etc.
