Yes, in general I would agree. However I can see other issues.

Sometimes you have to pick your battles and use resources in the most effective way in order to accomplish the "greater" good.

Some people's view good and evil as a matter of perspective or degree. Think of it as a problem you have to solve. The first part of any problem is determining what the problem is that you need to solve. You need to be able to define or recognize evil.
