I've made a lot of different decisions in my life and my best one took at least a few days.

Probably yes, because the major decisions reflect our very being. It's just a natural reaction we have towards something which will make us take this and that decision. Like suddenly meeting the right person and knowing it's the right one. It's instinctual. Or what we want to do in life. I see kids who hurt, who have to work, people who suffer, nuclear power plants which might explode every day, and in one second I have decided I will always, always, fight against that. It took me one second to feel so much dis-contempt that I will never be able to ignore those things. It takes just one second.

Nope. There is some intuition involved, but usually one gathers facts and information, does comparisons, lines up their resources if money is involved, does some soul searching, etc.

Sometimes, you don't have the time to do it all or lack the aptitude or know how of what to consider or do. Then it helps to asks others or search for the information on the internet, books or other media. Finally, there is some intuition involved in making the final decision so maybe that is what you're referring to.

Yes, and they're the ones we don't realize will have that type of impact. You apply for that job on a whim. You give your # to the guy at the coffee shop. You don't use protection. Seemingly meaningless decisions that can often lead to a major life change.

I believe that is only true when you arent aware that it's a major life decision. But my impulsive reactions the ones I havent given much thought to have proven to be the right way to go for me.

That is not true. Most normal and ordinary individuals give careful consideration of their major life decisions. By its very nature, major decisions in life affect one's future and that is why everybody pay particular attention to those things.

No way. However, sometimes decisions that result in the biggest consequences take only a few seconds to make... so always be sure to think before doing something stupid.

It's not true at this household, however there are some people that this does hold true for, and in a lot of cases they regret those split second decisions.

There are no statistics on the matter and it would be improper to give a reply without proper study. In my opinion there are many opinions we take in a second and others that we mull over.
