People live there because they can find food there. That is why early people came to America, their food (large mammals) went from northern Asia to the Americas. People move to the places where they can easily find food. Too far north and too far south there are only small amounts of food so people don't go there.

Wow!! You could've cut it down a lot more than that. 60 degrees north is Anchorage, Alaska, and 60 degrees south is below the tips of South America and Africa.
The only thing below 60 degrees south is Antarctica, and the only things north of 60 degrees north are Alaska, northern Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia, and Siberia.
No wonder all the people live between those latitudes!

Jeez, not difficult.
have you seen those regions? Even trees hardly grow, let alone crops.
We have to eat, my friend. People live in Alaska, true, but they have the massive resource of the USA to feed them.
Interestingly enough, in the medieval warm period - about 1100 AD to 1300 AD, the Vikings colonized Greenland. They were able to do this because the warm conditions enabled them to grow cereal crops there. Then the climate went back to normal and they abandoned the place.
So, what does that mean for the current global warming event? You got it - we will be able to grow more crops and live at higher latitudes. Not bad, eh?
