Leaves change color, leaves fall, cooler weather, frost in early mornings (at least here in Utah) more rain, harvest season for alot of crops, pumpkins, halloween, thanksgiving, smells of apple/pumpkin cooking... to name a few.

School starts, weather cools off (depending where you live: here in Texas it just means 80s and low 90s instead of 100). Lower electricity bills, more rain showers instead of thunderstorms, more clear days, trees change color, leaves fall, if you live way, way, way up north a snow. Maybe a frost if you live way north. Yep, the pools close (they only close here because the lifeguards have to go to school). Life becomes a bit more boring, more traffic than summer...
