Deciduous trees are those which lose their leaves. When I taught 4th grade we did a unit on biomes. The kids called the Deciduous Forest biome the Delicious Forest!

In botany, deciduous plants, principally trees and shrubs, are those that lose all of their foliage for part of the year.

In anatomy, deciduous teeth, also called milk teeth, are those that fall out during the course of normal development. Other body parts that are shed, such as antlers, are also described as deciduous.

I hope this helps.

Changing. Deciduous is a type of tree as opposed to coniferous trees (such as pine trees which have pine cones) and do not change colours or lose leaves in the fall.

Deciduous is the term for trees that shed their leaves during the fall and winter seasons. Oak trees are deciduous trees.........pines are evergreens. The term itself is derived from the Latin term Deciduus......or in literal translation......to fall off or shed seasonally. Soooooo, theoretically, you could say........that a deciduous tree is "seasonal". Oh ...and KC......the term....decidere........is French....not Latin....and simply means to fall off!

Deciduous means "temporary" or "tending to fall off" (deriving from the Latin word decidere, to fall off). Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deciduous for more info.

Do you want a definition or a synonym?

I found no synonyms however a deciduous tree is one that looses it leaves in Autumn.

An antonym would be evergreen.

Let's see...
Deciduous trees lose their leaves.
Children lose their deciduous teeth for permanent teeth.
Perhaps another definition for deciduous could be "temporary."

Definition: Used to describe trees and shrubs that shed their leaves in the fall.
